While we are dedicated to bonefishing in Eleuthera, Bahamas, any website discussing this beautiful island would be remise in not specifically acknowledging the amazing beaches in Eleuthera. There are about 60 “named” beaches in Eleuthera, each more beautiful than the next. There are countless other beaches ringing the island and waiting to be explored. Whatever you are looking for in a beach, you can find it in Eleuthera. There are beaches with great surfing waves, beaches for snorkeling, beaches for shelling, beaches for swimming, and of course, beaches for doing nothing but listening to the water. If you and your family are into beaches, this is the right place! With a population of only about 8,000 people for the whole island, you are almost guaranteed a deserted stretch of beach all to yourself.
And here is the added bonus for the fly fisher, many of the beaches are also great places to catch bonefish (pick up our DIY Book for more information). While your family is playing on the beach or in the water, you can be fishing the same beach or flats within their eyesight. Try that trick in other bonefishing locales!
Many beaches in Eleuthera double as bonefishing flats!
We could easily write an entire book about all of the beaches in Eleuthera, but luckily, we don’t have too. Every “Package” from EleutheraFlyFishing.com comes with a copy of The Elusive Beaches of Eleuthera, by Geoff & Vicky Wells. This book is an absolute must for any vacation to Eleuthera. Not only does it have great descriptions of the beaches and the activities available on such beaches, but it has great directions to get you around the island. This book and the “blue map” described in the “Packages” page are the two essential pieces of print every vacationer to Eleuthera must have. |
